A New JavaScript and JQuery book from Jon Duckett

JavaScript and JQuery book coverI happened to notice that the author of the “brown” HTML & CSS book (that I’ve recommended before) has a new book coming out. Slated for a September publish date, Jon Duckett’s JavaScript & JQuery: Interactive Front-End Web Development appears to mimic the HTML & CSS book with a similar cover design and book dimension.
Looking forward to seeing how Mr. Duckett tackles the topic of JavaScript!

Web Design & Development Returns to UP

HTML5+CSS3 logo

The second course in our Web Design & Development series (HTML II) starts Monday night at Lone Star’s University Park campus. Picking up where we left off in February, we will dig deeper into HTML5 to look at its newest features like the Video and Canvas elements. Similarly, we will look at new styling techniques made possible with CSS3 while also learning how each browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, IE) supports these latest capabilities.

As in all of our classes, this will be a practice-based course where the student are encourage to bring their own laptop and related technology with them. Using their own devices helps minimize friction for the student. They in turn begin to form those habits and develop the “muscle memory” that are the mark of a true web designer/developer.

If you are interested in this course or the Web Certificate program in general, please feel free to contact me). I am happy to answer any questions you have.
